I was able to attend a Book signing event with former President Jimmy Carter in Manhattan at the 5th Avenue Barnes and Noble location and it was certainly and honor and privilege to meet the 39th President of the United States.
Now at the age of 90 and with 28 books already on his resume, 39th President Jimmy Carter who has rarely used his full name–James Earl Carter, Jr.–was born October 1, 1924, in Plains, Georgia, decided to put pen to paper once again and write another book, this time a memoir entitled “A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety.”
Jimmy Carter, always a man ahead of his time, and always a man honoring the spirit of his faith, paints for us a very intimate portrait of his life from his days as a young boy to his days of commander-in-chief, to his later philanthropic work with the Carter Center. He also reminds us of his deep love and commitment to his family as he credits his wife Rosalynn for many accomplishments, and it’s no coincidence that his latest book made its debut on July 7, the date Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary.
Now you might ask yourself with 28 books already on his resume what else can the former president write about that we haven’t already read in his previous books, and the truth is…
the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, human rights advocate, and author of more than two dozen books had plenty to say as he timed traveled through his life bringing us the reader along for the ride… And I have to be honest…
It was definitely a fascinating ride.
