Amidst the enchanting depths of the forest, fashion designer Tadashi Shoji’s Fall-Winter New York Fashion Week 2024 collection emerges, weaving a narrative spun from the very essence of the woods. As the moon rises, evening gowns and cocktail dresses take the spotlight, each garment unfolding as a chapter in this captivating tale. “Let each gown and dress be a chapter in your own adventure. Where your movements dance in harmony with the spirit of the woods, creating a tapestry of enchantment that lasts beyond the winter winds,” says Shoji’s show notes.

Tadashi Shoji, renowned for its flawless fit, signature comfort, and timeless femininity in women’s formal wear and bridal attire, on Friday, February 9th, premiered his collection in collaboration with IMG as a highlight of New York Fashion Week. The digital-only presentation was accessible via nyfw.com and www.tadashishoji.com.

The collection was captured by photographer Andrew Yee, while videographer Eric Longden filmed the digital presentation. Styled by John Bonifacio, models Carla Mattei, Dounia Janowcz, and Jessica Le Bleis were photographed against an enchanted forest-themed backdrop. Hair and makeup artist Michelle Mungcal crafted a romantic look, drawing inspiration from lush foliage with a shimmering green and bronze palette.

Delicate patterns were inspired by lush leaves thriving in the heart of the forest. Luxurious chiffon embellished with woodland designs transported you to the treetop canopy under a twinkling night sky. Dresses adorned with intricate floral embroidery and meticulously hand-appliquéd 3-D flowers captured the essence of nature’s complexity. Chenille embroideries evoked the soft rustle of leaves in a gentle breeze while leading you into a fanciful narrative where the forest’s magic is intricately threaded into the fabric of your clothing.

Designer Tadashi Shoji, hailing from an artistic lineage, established his occasion wear brand in 1982 due to the limited options in the contemporary market. Notable celebrity admirers include Taylor Swift, Michelle Obama, Mirai Nagasu, Octavia Spencer, Kate Hudson, Kaley Cuoco, and Sheryl Lee Ralph. The TADASHI SHOJI brand is available in over 700 prominent department and specialty stores globally. The company maintains offices in Los Angeles and Shanghai, with showrooms in New York City and Tokyo.
