Anyone who knows me knows…I love chocolate!
Ok, ok, ok, I love desserts…Period!
And just in case you were wondering what to get me for Valentine’s Day…well…let me help you. One of everything…Please.
On an unscheduled trip to Plant Street Market in Orlando, I had the pleasure of visiting David Ramirez Chocolate. Unfortunately, I was unable to interview Chef David, this was the week the Universe decided to unleash its weird sense of humor cutting my trip time in Florida in half. So yes, the Universe had a weird sense of humor but this did not stop from getting an amazing interview. Chef David if you are reading this…this girl is a keeper. Considering that this was not a schedule interview she was professional, courteous, and friendly.
I absolutely had an amazing time during my visit and it was so hard for me to eat those beautiful pieces of chocolate. However, don’t let the name fool you, this upscale nirvana is not just for us chocolate lovers…there are plenty of desserts to try if chocolate is not your thing. My other weakness…
Trained at Johnson and Wales in pastry arts, Chef David Ramirez has appeared on the Food Network, worked at five-star properties in Atlanta and Orlando, and was most recently named captain of the 2009 Team USA. As captain of Team USA, Chef Ramirez will lead some of the finest pastry chefs in the internationally acclaimed Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, aka the World Pastry Cup, competition in Lyon, France. Chef Ramirez has competed against pastry chefs from all over the world and won dozens of awards from American Culinary Foundation competitions. In 2011, Chef David was inducted into the Orlando Magazine Culinary Hall of Fame.
