Halloween at the White House (Official White House Photos by Chuck Kennedy
Now I don’t want to keep reminding you that we are on the very last chapter of what was an amazing 8 years under the Obama Administration. But once again, we find ourselves at the ending of another milestone event, trick-or-treating at the White House for Halloween with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Military Families and local school kids had a fun-filled day while trick-or-treating at the South Portico of the White House. This year’s theme was a “Storybook Journey,” and kids of all ages enjoyed being transported to the world of classical stories like Mother Goose, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and the Wizard of Oz.
Although there were no tricks allowed at the White House, there were plenty of treats for the 4,000 Halloween guests at the White House, including an ode to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. President Obama and First Lady Michelle wowed the crowds with their “Thriller” dance moves, and although they had some amazing moves, it is safe to say that the students from the Joy of Motion Dance Company stole the show with their “Thriller” Flash Mob.
Trick-or-treaters were also treated to a bag filled with goodies that included fruit bars, kettle corn, White House Hershey Kisses, White House Halloween Cookies, White House M&Ms, Bo and Sunny baseball cards, and other assortment of candies. And just in case you weren’t among the lucky 4,000 to trick-or-treat at the White House this year, Christmas just arrived early, here’s the official recipe for the White House Halloween Cookies.
The White House Halloween Cookie Recipe
