Maria Grazia Chiuri, artistic director of women’s haute couture, ready-to-wear, and accessory collections, at Dior, enlisted Italian director Matteo Garrone to produce a short film titled “The Dior Myth,” to introduce her Fall-Winter 2020 haute couture collection this season.
Just hours ago during India Couture Week, the woman who is regarded as the designer who reinvented the Indian woman’s wardrobe staple, the kurti, took us to the Opera. Inspired by her past experiences of attending the opera, complete with chandeliers, candelabras, signature red curtains, and a dramatic staircase, Jaising transformed the runway into an Opera House and showcased her India Couture Week 2017 collection titled “The Opera.”
Designer Monisha Jaising is considered one of the pioneers of Indian Fashion and is no doubt using the world, and her experiences, as her canvas for the inspirations for her designs. Not a stranger to the red carpet, Jaising is consider a favorite among Bollywood stars.
