Former United States President Barack Obama participated in his first public post-White House event today at the University of Chicago, where his presidential library will be hosted.

The 44th President of the United States has been keeping a low profile since he gave his farewell speech on January 10, 2017 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, arrived in Chicago on Sunday signaling his return to the public eye.

The former president was also joined on stage with a diverse panel as he addressed young community leader, organizers, and 300 students from around Chicago. Obama also served as a professor at the Law School of the University of Chicago and represented the area where the campus is located as an Illinois state senator.

The event billed as “Conversation On Civic Engagement” highlighted the importance of community engagement, the low voting rates among younger Americans, and the need to prepare the next generation for leadership.

April showers may bring May flowers, however in New York, April brought out the Cinderella in all of us with New York Fashion Week: Bridal and The Knot Couture Bridal Fashion Week. From lace, to sparkles, to feathers, and fur, our old-time favorites and new emerging designers ushered in Spring by bringing our wedding fantasies to life for 7 enchanting days, giving many of us hopeless romantics a reason to fall in love with the idea of saying “I do.”

The New York Fashion Week: Bridal officially ended on Sunday, April 23rd, while The Knot Couture will end today, April 24, 2017. This year we had our eye on a few of favorites like Vera Wang, Sachin & Babi, Monique Lhuiller, Oscar De La Renta, Reem Acra, and Naeem Khan, just to name a few.

But if you happened to miss all the stunning designs of New York Bridal Fashion Week, never fear, you can still get front row access to many of the fashion shows via social media. Designers like Oscar De La Renta, Reem Acra, and Naeem Khan, and their attendees, used social media to stream the live fashion shows, which we here, simply couldn’t get enough of.
